How to factory reset your device?

How to factory reset your device?

Like any other device, Amazon Fire Stick and most Android boxes are sensitive to glitches such as a black screen, getting stuck in an app, random app openings, or occasional hangs. These issues usually go away with a factory reset.

So how should it be done? It’s actually quite simple, and we’ll use the two types of devices that most users use the most as examples. The Amazon Fire Stick and other Android boxes.

For the Amazon Fire Stick:

Performing a factory reset of your Fire TV Stick will unregister your Amazon account, making it look like a new purchase. You have to start over, including pairing the remote, connecting to Wi-Fi, adding Amazon credentials, downloading apps, and stuff like that.

Factory reset the Fire TV Stick using the remote.

1. From the settings on the TV

To do this, follow these steps:

Step 1: Power on the TV and connect the Fire TV Stick to the TV.

Step 2: Once the Fire TV Stick is up and running, use the navigation buttons on the remote to navigate to Settings at the top. choose it

Step 3: Using the navigation buttons again, scroll right and select My Fire TV.

Step 4: Scroll down and select “Reset to Factory Defaults”.

Note: If your Fire TV Stick has a passcode, you will be prompted to enter it. Enter the correct pin to continue.

Step 5: A dialog will appear asking you to confirm your decision to reset the Stick. Select Reset.

The system will then initiate the reset process, which takes about 5-8 minutes. Then you have to set up the Stick.

Note: Do not turn off the TV or remove the Fire TV Stick while resetting.

2. Use the remote control buttons

Sometimes the Settings screen cannot be accessed due to a system freeze or a black screen. In this case, you can use the Stick’s remote to reset it to factory settings.

Note: This method requires pairing the remote with the Fire Stick. If you have a new remote, restart your Fire Stick and hold the Home button for at least 20 seconds to pair the remote.

To reset it, press and hold the right rear button of the remote at the same time for at least 10 seconds or more. This will initiate the reset process. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

For other Android boxes (most of them are similar, so here we take the H96 MAX RK3566 Android TV Box as an example):

Step 1: Power on the TV and connect the H96 MAX RK3566 Android TV Box to the TV.

Step 2: Once the H96 MAX RK3566 Android TV Box is up and running, use the navigation buttons on the remote to navigate to Settings. choose it

Step 3: Using the navigation buttons again, scroll right and select Device Preferences.

Step 4:  Select About.

Step 4: Scroll down and select “Factory Reset”.

Generally speaking, most of the factory settings are in the settings, and you can see them as long as you look for them patiently. If you have any other questions or want to get more news about OTT TV Box & TV and Network Solutions, please pay attention to us.
